Gokul Bhawan was established in 1925.
Previously Paramahansa Rammangaldas ji's Gurudev lived in Ramghat at Ayodhya.
This place was donated by the British Deputy Commissioner of Faizabad Mr Howard.
 
Gurudev Paramahansa Ramamangaldas ji's Guruji was Paramahansa Benimadhavdas, who was a disciple of Ayodhya's badi chawani.
 
Paramhans Ramamangaldas ji spoke to many divine figures and wrote his experiences which are published in the "Divya Granth".
Paramhans Ramamangalas ji's biography was also published by the ashram.
 
The festivals celebreted at the ashram are Ram Navami, Guru Purnima, Janmashtami, Dadaguru Nirvantithi, Paramahansa Ramamangalas ji's Nirvantithi and Janmotsav.
 
The successor of Paramhans Ramamangaldas ji was Mahant Ramdasji who was the chote maharaj during Paramhans Ramamangaldas ji's tenure. He was succeeded by Mahant Ramsevak Dasji and after him is the present Mahant Parashuramdasji.
